I find myself underwhelmed by the Dems taking the House. My gut reaction tells me what they’ll be able do with half a bicameral legislature with a hostile president is fairly limited. Still, this is possibly for the best. Had they taken both branches and failed 2008 could be lost as well. With this makeup, I can hope that a split Congress can deadlock on really nasty legislation.
Of course the last four seats of the Senate still isn’t settled for sure, so maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and we’ll have both.
