I was asked to sign an agreement that states:
Acts of Terrorism: An act of any person acting on behalf of or in connections with any organization with activities directed towards the overthrowing or influencing of any government based on law or in fact by force of violence makes performance of a contractual duty impossible may excuse performance of that duty and alleviate The Center from the liability of payment of such performance.
I had to read it ten or twelve times, but am currently interpreting this as being a “Get out of global-jihad free” card. Alternatively, as the “may excuse performance” bit there hedges from the definitive “must exclude performance,” I might be able to recoup costs associated with any particular government overthrow that I can work into the mix. Only one way to find out.
