Carlos is apparently an extremely popular bike-riding-type guy who has for some reason given a group of enthusiastic new friends my email address. I got all of these within a twelve hour period.

Hey Carlos! I can’t remember when you’re leaving for Africa. Something tells me you go in mid-August. I hope you have a fantastic journey. What you are going to do will be so soul enriching. You are going to earn a shitload of good karma. Your soul will have an even better go of it next time around!

I am so impressed by you, Carlos. You seem to be operating on a higher spiritual plane than most people your age. I am so happy that I got to meet you and spend a little time with you. Keep in touch. I am very curious about how this experience is for you.

It was great fun to have you with us on the ride. I am sending you the pictures we talked about. Contact Ricardo @ Revolution Cyclery on Resler, where we met sunday morning before the ride. He can give you some more info. Tell him Evelin sent you. You can also speak with Gilberto Porras @ Bicycle Company on Mesa (north of the University). He owns 2 Pegoretti’s and I believe he still has the one for sale.

Hey Carlos,

That was some ride we had Sunday. The plan really was to take it slower than we did on the rollers. Then came those other guys and blew that idea. You rode fast!!

Wednesday night I usually hook up with some faster riders. Feel free to join us.

Sat. at 7 a.m. I wil ride with “the fast dudes”–my name for the group–at River Run. They usually develop a plan as they ride, but usually they go north to La Mesa and sometimes some go all way to Mesilla. Last Saturday we did a ten mile climb on the way to la Mesa. They were part of the group that rode the rollers with us Sunday and they turned downhill at Vado to go to La Mesa. This group ould be a faster option for Saturday.
