Long hot week. Still acclimating to the summer. I ran the 19+ miles from my home to my parent’s today for the 2nd time (and first since April). It was much more difficult with the temperatures being where they were – ending temp was above 80. The last time I did this run I had a crew waiting for me in Burlington to cheer me up the final hill – today not so much. Also I’m noting from that photograph that last time I carried both a camelbak and my water belt – today I only had the former and it really was insufficient fluid for the distance & temperature. Regardless. The week is done. I’m not sure how next week will go exactly but still, still think it has potential to be interesting. It just depends on how dumb I’m willing to be.
Today marks start of the second half of the year, and the end of week 5 of 18 in training for my New England Double (Maine Marathon/New Hampshire Marathon weekend). Still not time to panic yet. Prior to today’s run I reached 1073 miles for the year to date, putting me above goal pace for 2000 miles in 2012. Which was not a specific resolution, but should have been.
Song of the week, Lake Michigan by Rogue Wave. I actually liked this song a lot better before watching this crappy footage they slapped together for a video.
