The Atlanta Police Department goes out of it’s way to welcome visitors to the city. For instance, when the American Historical Association (ed. - scoundrels) was in town last weekend for their annual conference, one non-US citizen participant (Felipe Fernandez-Armesto of Tufts) deigned to cross the street in front of the hotel. Fortunately an undercover cop in a bomber jacket (Protect, Serve, Suppress) arrested him (face down on the sidewalk, natch). He spent 8 hours in lockup for his troublemaking.
