In Hanover this September 28th? Go see the rough cut of Alexander Schlichter’s film Strandbeesten on the Dutch artist Theo Jansen and his wind-powered mechanical beasts. Here’s the trailer (though, I’m not sure this is the original score).
Schilchter originally shot in 16mm but is now shooting in HD with a Panasonic AG-HVX200 on P2 cards, editing in Final Cut Pro. A feature length version of this is expected sometime is 2008.
