A beautiful night
February 23rd, 2008 - nathanael · No Comments
There’s at least six solid inches out there now, but it’s relatively warm and gorgeous tonight. The kids on the street are leaving the bars drunk and friendly, and the dog was ecstatically mushing to some uncertain destination. I love Allston, particularly more so when a fresh coat of white covers it’s flaws.
Heavy snow in Burlington
February 10th, 2008 - nathanael · No Comments
It’s not really heavy in a deep or think kind of way, more like in that it’s dense and wet and fist-sized clumps of it are smashing down from the trees onto the street every time there’s either a little wind or someone foolish enough to walk underneath. It’s a little like walking around in the middle of a slushball artillery barrage. At this rate the trees will be snow-less again within the hour.
UPDATE: We’re now having simultaneous snow, rain and thunder. Brilliant.
a bit of snow at kenmore
December 21st, 2007 - nathanael · No Comments
Around 9:30 in the morning, it’s impossible to find a bus leaving kenmore square. Impossible. That’s cool, we’ll wait in the snow for 40 minutes and watch the out of service buses go by. Also, a previous busline short, 66.

The blizzard gave me the afternoon off so Schnozzus Maximus and I hung out and got snowed on some.

St. Patrick’s Snowstorm

CNHB wins the snowstorm shootoff by a long shot with this entry. Does she really know latin or is she faking it googlestyle?
UPDATE: Interesting conspiracy theory emerges. Perhaps she’s faking is photoshopstyle.

First Snow Snuffathon
December 4th, 2006 - nathanael · No Comments
Maija waits patiently all summer for the first snow of the year. Given global warming, this keeps getting pushed further back and back. This year, a jacket wasn’t necessary on December 1st. Finally though this morning, we have it - the first wet, slushy, puddling snow of the year. The the snow dogs rejoice.
Follow-up (2:30pm): It’s now brilliantly sunny out and a balmy 37 degrees. She’s going to be so disappointed when I get home.
